Dental Procedures
At Dental Offices LLP, we provide a full scope of dental procedures for our patients.
Preventative Procedures
Dental Cleanings (prophylaxis)
A procedure to remove plaque, tarter and stains from teeth, with the intention of preventing periodontal disease and tooth decay.
Sealants
Dental sealants are thin plastic coatings that are applied to the grooves on the chewing surfaces of the back teeth to protect them from tooth decay. Most tooth decay in children and teens occur on these surfaces. Sealants protect the chewing surfaces from tooth decay by keeping germs and food particles out of these grooves.
Exams, digital x-rays and consultations
Our doctors perform oral evaluations as needed, using digital x-ray technology in order to detect infections, cavities, fractures, periodontal disease and other pathology.
Restorative Procedures
Crown (cap)
A restoration which covers all or most of a natural tooth due to extensive decay or fracture. In most cases the crown can be fabricated in one visit using E4D technology.
Fixed bridge
A stationary appliance which replaces one or more missing teeth. The bridge is cemented to supporting teeth or implants adjacent to the space.
Implant
A titanium fixture that is surgically placed into the upper or lower jawbone where a tooth is missing. It serves as the tooth root and anchor for the crown, bridge, or denture that is placed over it.
Fillings
Restoration of broken, chipped or decayed teeth with amalgam (silver), composite resin (white), or porcelain materials to restore appearance and function.
Root Canal Treatment
Root canal treatment is performed on a tooth that has damage to the nerve and blood vessels, found inside the tooth, due to extensive decay, fracture or some type of trauma. Without treatment, the tooth may become infected. The nerves (pulp) of the tooth are removed and the space (canal) is filled and sealed. The tooth may then be restored with a filling or a crown.
Dentures
A removable full or partial set of artificial teeth. We offer the convenience of an on-site lab with skilled technicians to ensure high quality, personalized service.
Mouth Guards/Night Guards
A device that is worn over the teeth to protect them against impact or injury.
E4D Dentist™
Innovative E4D Dentist™ system for same day crowns, inlays, onlays and veneers.
Cosmetic Dentistry
Dental Bleaching
The chemical treatment of natural teeth that uses peroxide to produce the whitening effect.
Bonding
Dental bonding is a procedure in which a tooth-colored resin material (a durable plastic material) is applied and hardened with a special light, which ultimately “bonds” the material to the tooth to restore or improve a person’s smile.
Veneer
In dentistry, a veneer is a layer of material (porcelain or composite) placed over a tooth, either to improve the aesthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth’s surface from damage.
